Research Assistant Available for Ph.D. Students:

There is a Research Assistant position opening for new Ph.D. student in Cyber Innovation Group, hosted in Department of Computer Science and Computational Science Research Center, at San Diego State University (San Diego). This is a joint Ph.D. program between San Diego State University and University of California Irvine. Primary courses will be taken in San Diego State University, San Diego, California, USA. Some courses will be taken at University of California Irvine in Los Angeles Metro Areas, which is about 2 hours driving from San Diego. According to US News Ranking 2017, San Diego State University is the #12 in International Business, #68 of Top Public Schools, and #140 of Top National Universities. Ph.D. students are exposed to many exciting cutting-edge research activities led by faculty Principal Investigators.

 

Preferred qualification:

1. M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related majors.

2. Strong mathematics background, skilled in MATLAB programming. Knowledge of network simulation and video compression is a big plus. 

3. TOEFL and GRE (only general) scores meeting graduate school admission requirement.

Expected Research Areas of Research:

Wireless networks, Link Layer Medium Access Control, Semantic communications, QoE/QoS optimization, pricing in network economics, multimedia communications
